It’s that time of year again! Celebrated at different times in different countries, Mother’s Day in Italy will be celebrated on May 10 this year. So how can we make our mothers understand how important they are to us? Ideally, it would be to spend the day together doing something enjoyed by both, perhaps preparing a meal or taking an exercise class together, even a day sunbathing in the garden if weather permits! Looking through old photos and videos and reminiscing of times past is also a precious way of spending time with our mothers.
So, in addition to the classic bouquet of flowers usually given with love on Mother’s Day, here is a list of unique and classy gift ideas to let her know just how special she is!
1) Hands in the mix
What better time than the present to dedicate ourselves to the creation of dishes and dips? I would recommend a good recipe book, or rather “the” book, by Silver Spoon. 5) Divine perfume
Choosing perfume as a gift is a delicate matter as it is complicated to know which fragrance the other would like to wear. However with some scents, we could almost say the “classics”, it is difficult to go wrong. For Her by Narciso Rodriguez, for example, has been described as sensual but not aggressive, long-lasting (the whole day) but not sickening. In fact, it is rare that someone who smells it doesn’t like it! In addition to the well-known pink (more delicate) and black (more intense) versions, there are different variations according to the period. It is also possible to combine two scents in order to create a third so if you live with your mother, exchanging or uniting them between yourselves could be a very nice idea!
6) A veil of lipstick
Whether it be every day or for those special occasions, lipstick is an accessory that every woman uses and is certainly a gift to be appreciated. To be on the safe side, I would suggest Chanel’s Rouge Coco with constant hydration.
This lipstick is available in 30 shades and is excellent for mature lips or for those whom a matte or an opaque would highlight any expression lines.
Alternatively, if your mother prefers something lighter and more comfortable, Leis Beiges, a lip balm that nourishes and gives a delicate colour to the lips, may be a more suitable idea.
7) A sparkling dragonfly
